EUIPO registration and protection
Procedure
An EU design provides uniform protection throughout the European Union; in other words, a validly registered design is valid in the following countries:
Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Romania, Sweden.
The initial registration period is five years, renewable for further periods of five years, up to a maximum of 25 years.
A single application file may contain as many designs as desired, provided they all fall within the same classification (Locarno Classification).
