Trademark and Trade Name Registration
abroad
Procedure
The registration of a European Union trade mark is a standardised registration procedure carried out at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), located in Alicante.
A European Union trade mark is valid for ten years and may be renewed indefinitely for further periods of the same duration.
If you wish to register in several jurisdictions, the simplest way is to use the grouped application based on the relevant treaties (International Trademark, Community Trademark, OAPI Trademark, etc.)
However, for countries not party to any agreements, this can be requested directly.
These countries include almost all those in South America:
| Argentina | Honduras |
| Bolivia | México |
| Brasil | Nicaragua |
| Colombia | Panamá |
| Costa Rica | Paraguay |
| Chile | Perú |
| Ecuador | Rep. Dominicana |
| El salvador | Uruguay |
| Guatemala | Venezuela |
